Watch this beautiful music video on dementia and the power of love to see us through it.
“You will never leave my mind,
If we live to be a hundred, you will find,
Damn this old dementia, for robbing me of time,
But I promise you forever, you will never leave my mind.”
See the full lyrics below video.
I knew you were the one, knew it from the start,
And after all this time, you still have my heart.
I cherish every day, we shared along the way,
I’ll never lose your memory, nothing will erase.
You will never leave my mind,
If we live to be a hundred, you will find,
Damn this old dementia, for robbing me of time,
But I promise you forever, you will never leave my mind.
I could be standing on some distant star,
I could be hanging out on Jupiter or Mars,
Up on the mountain high, down in the deepest sea,
No matter where I am, I carry you with me,
You will never leave my mind,
If we live to be a hundred, you will find,
Damn this old dementia, for robbing me of time,
But I promise you forever, you will never leave my mind.
And even when I’m old and grey,
And my thoughts may seem to stray,
You will never leave my mind,
If we live to be a hundred, you will find,
Damn this old dementia, for robbing me of time,
But I promise you forever, you will never leave my mind.
I promise you forever,
You will never leave my mind,
You will never leave my mind.

I know I never left his mind. He was always asking where I was and why I wasn’t where he could find him. In truth, I was always there, he just didn’t know who the “nice grey haired lady” was. We had just had our 56th wedding anniversary when he died. This made me cry harder than I have in the three years since he died. I think it has really helped me. Thank you!
WOW!! Very, very touching! Will watch more than once. This is how true love behaves.
