We do have homes like this in Wellington, NZ, running 5 days a week. Usually, alz patients are picked up and dropped off at the end of a day. Lunch etc is provided. I play music to my Patricia at her hospital She is blind from her alz and enjoys her special music via media player and headphones . . .

The Vicarage By The Sea provides long term dementia care in Harpswell Maine. Since 1998 in a small home setting for up to 8 people living with dementia.
